Terms
Terms of service
The agreement between you and us when you use OFC Board. As short and clear as we could make it.
This is a translation: the Dutch version is the original, and where the two differ, the Dutch one applies.

In short
- An account is free. To start games, a group needs a license: €59.99 a year, VAT included.
- A license is for a group of up to 12 people, playing one game at a time; a second table can run on 4 party nights per 12 months.
- A group you start yourself first gets 48 hours free, counted from its first closed round: one free trial per account, and none after an invitation.
- Nothing is ever renewed or charged automatically.
- If the license runs out, your old games stay visible.
- Stopping is simply not renewing. Within 14 days of paying you can withdraw from a purchase and get it all back; after that a license isn't refunded.
- OFC Board keeps score; money between players never goes through us.
1. Who we are
OFC Board (ofcboard.com) is a service of Trietment. You can reach us at info@ofcboard.com, or by post at Watermunt 39, 5931 TK Tegelen.
2. What OFC Board is
OFC Board is a scoreboard for Chinese poker. It keeps track of rounds, points, the dealer and the swaps, and at the end works out who pays whom. It is not a game of chance and not a payment service: you agree among yourselves what a point is worth, and you pay each other directly, outside OFC Board. We are not a party to your game, and not responsible for agreements or disagreements between players. Play within the law and within your own limits.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- An account is personal. Use a name your fellow players know you by: they see it at the table.
- Keep your password to yourself. If something is done from your account, we assume it was you — unless you let us know that someone else got in.
- Creating an account and being a member of a group are free.
4. Groups and roles
A group is private: you can only join with an invitation. Each invitation works once and is valid for 14 days. Every member can invite people, and is responsible for whom they invite. The owner and the organizers can also remove members. The owner can rename the group, transfer it to another member, or delete it — with all its games.
A group has room for 12 people, the owner included. An open invitation keeps a place until it's used, revoked or expired. The group that came over from trietment.com has no limit on places and plays as many games at once as it likes; there, only the owner and the organizers invite.
5. License and free trial
- To start games, a group needs a license. It costs €59.99 a year, VAT included, and covers the whole group: every member plays without paying.
- With a license, a group plays one game at a time. On 4 party nights per 12 months, a second table can run for 24 hours.
- A new group gets a free trial: 48 hours of free play, counted from the first round that is closed or recorded as a misdeal, one game at a time. You don't need to give any payment details for that. After the free trial, you can still finish the round in play; a new round or a new game then takes a license.
- You only get a free trial for a group you create yourself, once per account, and not if your account joined a group by invitation before. Everyone can play in the free trials of at most 3 groups, their own included.
- The group's owner or an organizer can buy the license. Everyone in the group plays on it, even when the owner isn't there.
- A license runs for a year, through the last day we name (Dutch time), and is not renewed automatically. There is no subscription, and we never charge you out of the blue.
- If you renew before your license runs out, the new year only starts when the old one is over. If you buy during the free trial, you keep the hours that are left: your year only starts after the trial. If you buy before the free trial has started, the free trial isn't added on top.
- If the price changes, the new price only applies to licenses you buy after that.
6. When the license runs out
You can then no longer start new games or reopen a finished one. The game that was played on the license's last day can take new rounds for another 48 hours, and be reopened within them; after that, you can still finish the round in play. Everything else keeps working: looking at old games and the standings, and settling up. Your data is kept. If you buy a new license, you can carry on as soon as the payment comes through.
7. Paying
You pay in advance through Stripe, for example with iDEAL or a credit card. Before you go to the payment page, we ask you to agree to these terms, to when the license starts (see below), and to the license being nonrefundable once the cooling-off period is over (section 8). Without that consent you can't pay. We store the time you gave it along with the payment. You enter your card or bank details on Stripe's payment page; they never reach us. The license is on your group as soon as Stripe confirms the payment. A group has one payment open at a time at most, and a payment page stays valid for 31 minutes; the owner can take over a payment someone else started.
When the license starts:
- If your group still has a license, the new one starts on the day the current one ends. Renewing early never costs you a day.
- If you buy during the free trial, the license is active at once, and its year counts from the end of the trial.
- If you buy before your group's free trial has started, the license is active at once, and the free trial isn't added on top.
- Otherwise it starts at once.
Paying with a method that takes a few days, like a direct debit? Then all of the above goes by the day the money arrives, not the day you paid.
8. Cooling-off period, stopping and refunds
You have 14 days to change your mind. Until the end of the 14th day after the day your payment comes in, you can withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason. If that last day is a Saturday, a Sunday or a public holiday, you can until the end of the next working day. For a renewal too, the days count from your payment, not from when the new license starts.
You withdraw with the button "Withdraw from contract here". It's on the page of your payment, on your group's license page, and behind "Withdraw from contract" at the bottom of every page, once you're signed in with the account you paid with. You confirm with "Confirm withdrawal", and we email you an acknowledgement right away, with the date and time. You can also email us at info@ofcboard.com, for example with the model form below; it's in time if you send it before the period ends.
When you withdraw, you get back everything you paid, within 14 days, the way you paid it. The license from that purchase stops at once; one that hadn't started yet is removed, and later licenses of your group move up.
After the cooling-off period a license isn't refunded, not even if you stop using it or delete your group. It doesn't renew by itself, so there is nothing to cancel: it runs until its end date and then lapses. Before that date we send the group's owner and organizers a reminder. You can renew at any time; the new year only starts when the old one is over.

9. Fair use
Use OFC Board for what it's made for: keeping score with your group. So don't:
- attack or overload the service, or try to get in where you don't belong;
- create accounts or groups automatically;
- use more than one account, or keep starting new groups, to get another free trial;
- use invitations to email people who didn't ask for it;
- use OFC Board for illegal gambling or anything else that isn't allowed.
If that happens anyway, we may block the account or the group. Where we can, we contact you first.
Found a security problem? Report it to us at security@ofcboard.com; our responsible disclosure policy explains how. Go no further than you need to show it, and don't look at other people's data. We're glad to hear from you.
10. Availability
We do our best to keep OFC Board available at all times, but we can't guarantee it: sometimes there's maintenance, sometimes something goes wrong. We may change and improve features. What a license includes (room for 12 people, one game at a time plus 4 party nights per 12 months, and 48 hours after the end for the game of the last day), we won't take away during a license year that's already running.
11. Liability
OFC Board calculates carefully, but feel free to check the standings yourself: what you pay each other remains your own agreement. If we are liable for damage after all, it is only up to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profits. These limits don't apply if the damage comes from intent or deliberate recklessness on our part.
12. Your data
How we handle your data is set out in our privacy statement.
13. Leaving OFC Board
You can stop at any time. Since nothing renews automatically, there's nothing to cancel. If you want your account deleted, email us. If you own a group, first transfer it to another member or delete it.
14. Changes
We may change these terms. We'll let you know about significant changes by email in advance. For a license you've already bought, the terms as they were when you bought it keep applying until the end of its license year.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If we can't work it out together, the competent court in the Netherlands decides. As a consumer, you always keep the protection the law gives you.
